Water Warriors

On 18th April, 2024, Megha organized a unique children’s programme in Sobha Iris - The Junior Water Warriors. As the clock struck 4, kids began pouring in, bubbling with excitement for the activities to come. The event kicked off with a drawing competition, followed by a memory game and concluded with a thrilling treasure hunt. It was a spectacular success in both engaging the children and imparting valuable lessons about the environment.

To begin, the children unleashed their wildest imagination in the art competition, conveying the message of water conservation through vivid posters and drawings. Then they moved on to the memory game, where they learnt numerous water saving techniques ranging from the half bucket challenge to reusing towels and reusing waste water from RO filter. The treasure hunt encouraged the kids to put on their thinking hats as they zoomed across the apartment from one station to another in search of our prized bingo cards. To finish off, they were given a fortnight-long challenge : follow the methods of water conservation on the Bingo card, and tick them off to win!

Through these games and activities, the children could learn about water conservation and how to implement it in their daily lives. But most importantly, the evening taught them that learning about and contributing to the environment is fun. The small values they took home and the Bingo conservation methods they employed, are sure to make a huge impact on their future and environment.
