T Shirt Totes

Sobha Iris’ residents took yet another crafty step towards sustainability through tote bag making! All it needed was an old T-shirt, a pair of scissors, crafty hands and loads of enthusiasm!

The activity kicked off with a rapid fire round about the three Rs’s - reducing, reusing and recycling. Then, the crafting began! The participants first cut off the sleeves and deepened the neck, along with cutting strips at the bottom. Then they proceeded to tie the strips together to make the bottom of the bag. And voila! The bags were ready for use!

The evening was immensely enjoyable and relaxing, not just for the children, but also some adults with curious minds, who joined this activity. It was an hour well spent learning about the importance of reusing and as one participant proudly proclaimed, breaking the monotony of a hectic day!
