A Little Note From Our Founder
Big changes do not happen overnight. It is small drops of rain and a small stream somewhere in the mountain that become a big river and a mighty ocean.
William Wordsworth famously wrote in one of his poems - The child is the father of Man. A good habit, a little awareness, a small concern for surroundings develop into a personality over a period of time.
Children are potent forces of change. They can influence changes at home and in their community. During summer, I did a workshop for children in our community. It involved gamifying different ways of being efficient with water. The game had a small prize attached to it, for consistently sticking to the best practices over two weeks. When I bumped into the parents of one of the kids that participated, they explained how their eight year old was forcing them to change their habits for the better! It was my ‘Aha!’ moment - I realized what the power of one little child could do.
This motivated me to start Little Actions - to channel the energy of young children to make our environment a little better, every day. I don’t aim for monumental changes, but look for small actions by little citizens of this world that I believe will result in big impact over a period of time.
